One of the most precious gifts we can give ourselves is the ability to calm our wondering mind. We lose so much energy though our thoughts (which are usually useless and negative) and we wonder why we feel depleted. Learning to rule our mind, stops it from ruling us and we touch a calm and peacefulness that already exists inside of us.
Managing to overcome any form of addiction whether it be drugs, alcohol, sex, food or any other addiction, is one of the most amazing triumphs that we can achieve in life. Addictions can be one of the hardest and most gripping of challenges, yet overcoming them builds inward strength and power that would never of been attainable without going through the process. Whatever addiction you have or are overcoming, be proud of yourself! They're one of the toughest things to achieve and one of the most rewarding once over come.
An ending usually marks the beginning of something new and exciting. Just when we think our world is turning upside down, it is actually turning the right way up. As humans we can sometimes fear change but change is usually our prayers being answered. Learning to trust the flow of life can be one of our greatest strengths.
The past is mererly a program running in the primal part of our brain. We project this program on to our future and wonder why we keep reliving the same events and experiencing the same or similar experiences. We can begin to break that program by simply being aware that it is there and by starting to activate our frontal cortex by thinking about new experiences we wish to have in life. Positive visualisation is a great tool that can help to break the old program and install a brand new one. We are more in control than we realise and can start to take steps towards the life we 'choose' to live rather than an automated program determined by the primal part of our brain.
Science has proven that we literally wear grooves in our brain with the thoughts that we think. It really is possible to train our brain into new thought patterns - patterns that support our growth, healing and health.

When we learn to silence our mind, the monkey mind, we are then more able to connect to the wisdom of our soul. The voice of our soul is a beautiful classical under tone, where as the voice of the ego is a loud and banging thud that stops us from connecting to the voice of the soul. Meditation is a wonderful practice to help silence the mind, and tune into the voice of the soul.
Criticism breaks down the inner spirit. Praise builds it up. Praise yourself as much as you can. Tell yourself how well you are doing with every little thing.
