Mindfulness is simply being aware of "what is" right now without trying to change it. Enjoying the present moment without trying to 'hold on' when it changes. It is observing your thoughts and feelings, without judging them. Without trying to change them. Mindfulness brings us into the beauty of this present moment. Anxiety is living in the future and depression is living in the past – mindfulness brings us into the magic and the beauty off this present moment. This is where we can activate the wellsprings of peace that already exist inside of us.
This is a heart opening and truly inspiring talk by Brene Brown. Talking about how to embrace vulnerability, lead an authentic life and believing that 'you are enough'.
Imagine how beautiful our world will be when we no longer worry about what other people think of us. When we are indeed truly at peace with ourselves and nothing anyone says or does bothers us. Imagine a world where no amount of negativity or drama can touch us. Imagine being free of worrying about the opinions of others and how light and free we feel as a result! This does not mean turning into a horrible person, it just means that we are no longer governed by the perceptions or the opinions of others. Where we are no longer moulded by what we feel other people think we "should" do and how we "should" conduct our life. Imagine a world where we can step in to our own authenticity, claim it's 100% and be who we are, and not what we perceive the world thinks we "should" be.
Be weird. Be random. Be who you are. Because you would never know who would love the person that you hide. CS Lewis.
Yesterday saw our last yoga and mindfulness day retreat for 2016 and what a beautiful day it was. Full of wisdom, relaxation and giggles. It was a real feelgood day. Time to step off the "treadmill" of life and to take stock, to rejuvenate and to renew. Louise and I are thoroughly looking forward to a New Year in 2017 of more uplifting and restorative yoga retreats.
I love this post that is Positive Soul posted on Instagram recently as it serves as a great reminder that our words are constantly creating our reality. It is indeed true that the way we describe our life, is the way that we will experience our life. This can not only give us hope for the future but also freedom, that if we learn to describe our life in the way that we "choose" to live it, we will create it.
I wanted to share this post that I found from "positive soul" on Instagram. It really hit home to me and acted as a great reminder just how much our words are creating our reality. Mostly we are unaware of our thoughts and our words because they are generally operating from the subconscious mind. Which means we are"unknowingly" creating our reality from the subconscious robotic state. It is great to have reminders, that bring us into conscious "awareness", and help us to stay 'awake and aware' that our thoughts and our words are indeed creating our reality.
What adds to the beauty of this quote – is that the happier we are, the more we inspire other people to find their own happiness within. So even though it might on one hand drive them crazy, it can also inspire them to find peace and happiness that they deserve too.
Criticism breaks down the inner spirit. Praise builds it up. Praise yourself as much as you can. Tell yourself how well you are doing with every little thing.
