The issues for human beings are quite clear cut when it comes to emotional needs. By nature, women in particular tend to be the caregivers to everyone – everyone but themselves! Most women put their needs on the back burner until everyone, and everything else is taken care of. As demands, jobs and pressures pile up, women take on more and more, time and time again, and find many excuses to put off their own needs for rest and renewal. Quite often believing that it is selfish to tend to themselves. This leads to exhaustion both emotionally and physically and makes us robots of our routine, experiencing little enjoyment in life. Why do we put ourselves last on our list of priorities? Surly, if we are renewed, relaxed and 'in a good place' emotionally we will be a better care giver to those we love? They will experience 'the best' parts of us and redeem great rewards from their time with us. How can we change that?
