Many a time I have found myself in the extremes of frustrations shouting at the heavens for help or better still a miracle. I think that most of us would agree that life can be really super challenging and out of sheer frustration sometimes I have found myself having a not so friendly word with the universe. I pray (okay, demand at times and even scream) for a miracle to happen but instead I seem to receive more and more challenges.
WTF? How the hell is this the miracle I prayed for?!?
It took me many years to understand the way prayers are answered and I have to say it was never quite in the way I expected. I expected that when I sent out a prayer to the universe that my request would be answered adorned by rainbows, butterflies and dancing choirs of angels bringing my miracle to me.
But instead what I found to happen is that the universe would reveal to me the very thing (whether it be a limited behaviour, old patterns and cycles and general mish-mash of my emotions) that is blocking the miracle that I pray (ok beg and scream) for. So instead of the prayer being directly answered, I found that when I overcame the challenge (change the limiting belief, work through some of my emotions and change my patterns and cycles) then the very thing I prayed for entered into my life.
So in essence our prayers are answered but they are answered in a roundabout way. Of course we would all prefer the instant miracle because it means we don’t have to work very hard to earn the outcome.
When we overcome our challenges and obstacles by having been a co-creator (with the Universe) in an awesome out come we feel a huge sense of achievement, satisfaction and our confidence grows.
This way we work with the universe to design our life instead of sitting back and expecting divine forces to do it all for us. This is the path of spiritual warrior my friends.
